ZHOB: District Police Officer PSP Sardar Mavarhan Khan Leghari has said that it was a need of the hour to bridge the gaps and effective coordination between the police department and media to eliminate the crimes from the society.“Although safety and security are very important for every citizen but media persons are highly vulnerable, especially those working in sensitive areas”, he said.
Talking to this scribe the PSP officer said the police and media have a commitment to point out and eliminate social evils from the society. He also called on journalists to take the necessary precautions ensuring their own safety while covering. He assured that the police department would extend full cooperation in this regard.
“Police uniform is the symbol of the state and ensuring citizens’ security is their obligation. The professional relations between police and the media would not only help to handle the critical situation, but it also high their morale.” Highlighting the significant role of media and police he said, both have common goals of serving the masses, trying to eliminate the crimes and ensure the provision of the justice. It was a collective responsibility to coordinate and work together to fulfill responsibilities. As the country reels from insecurity, he asked the general public to inform police in case of any suspicious activity. After assuming charge as district police chief, he said restoration the public confidence in the force has been focused as priority and well-reputed police jawans have been deputed on key positions in the city,” adding that steps were also underway to focus on people-friendly policing, moreover to encourage the police men a welfare program has also been initiated for the first time. DPO said.
He also thanked the DIG Zhob Region Abdullah Khan, as he flanked by DPO Sherani Kamal Khan Kibzai, inaugurated the helpline service at police station. PSP officer termed the establishment of helpline as the initiative of a new era of communication between police and masses.
