KABUL: Pakistan has expressed its strong support for the Afghan government’s peace offer to Taliban saying Islamabad is committed to cooperation in this regard.
The support was expressed by National Security Advisor, Nasser Khan Janjua in delegation level talks with his Afghan counterpart Hanif Atmar in Kabul.
The two sides discussed ways to improve relations between the two countries particularly in areas of war against terrorism, the Afghanistan peace process and economic ties.
Earlier, Nasser Janjau called on President Ashraf Ghani at the Presidential Palace who invited Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi to visit Afghanistan.
In a tweet, President Ghani said the invitation has been extended to initiate state to state comprehensive dialogue.
The two sides also discussed the importance of connectivity and regional cooperation between the two countries in a campaign against crime and activities of terrorist networks.
During his visit to Afghanistan, the NSA acknowledged warmth displayed for him and Pakistan and appreciated the peace offer made by the President.
