Islamabad : The dacoits took away Rs 10.5 million in the broad day light from a bank at federal capital Islamabad.
Five armed persons entered in the branch of United Bank Limited (UBL) situated at Taramri Chowk under the jurisdiction of Koral Police Station . They made bank staff hostage at gun point and after collecting the amount available in the bank a sum of Rs 10.5 million they escaped.
The eye witnesses told the police that the robbers fled away in the black Toyota Carolla Car bearing registration number LRS 846.
The police reached at spot under the supervision of SP(Rural) Tanveer Mustafa and gathered evidences from the crime scene.
The news of the robbery was spread like a jungle fire , which created panic among the masses . The people gathered outside the bank and demanded the police to apprehend the robbers at earliest as a gang of dacoits is active , which had already committed many burglaries in the area.
The police also got the CCTV footage from the bank. They are also trying to trace the culprits through car number also.
