ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb has said the government firmly believes in freedom of expression.
Talking to the media persons outside National Press Club in Islamabad on Monday, she, however, said the expression of freedom also demands greater responsibility.
The State Minister said blacking out the media on the day of operation against Faizabad protestors was a difficult decision. However, it was taken in the national interest as the channels were giving live coverage to the operation, which was contrary to PEMRA laws. She said the government had asked the television channels not to give live coverage to the event.
