Islamabad : The 140th birth anniversary of Allama Muhammad Iqbal would be observed today (Thursday) on November 9th.
In this connection, special seminars and conferences would be held across the country to pay tribute to great poet and philosopher while newspapers would publish special editions. Special programs would be presented on radio and Television.
Allama Muhammad Iqbal was born on November 9, 1877 in Sialkot, a famous city of Punjab. He created awareness in the Muslims through his poetry, speeches and thoughts. His books have been translated into various languages of the world including English, German, Russian, French, and Japanese.
The formation of “Two Nation Theory” was the significant achievement of Allama Muhammad Iqbal which later became the foundation of new Muslim State Pakistan.
He died on April 21, 1938 and was laid to rest near Badshai Mosque in Lahore.
