    C&WD Punjab is all set to build temporary Boat Bridges

    Lahore, (PR) : The Communication and Works Department Punjab is all set to build temporary Boat Bridges in line with the modern infrastructure and it has contacted internationally reputed companies, known for modern boat infrastructure, in China and the USA. These views were expressed by the Minister of Communication and Works Punjab Mr. Sohaib Ahmad Bharth while chairing of meeting on temporary Boat Bridges here in the C & W Department on Thursday. The meeting was attended by SE Mechanical Wing Mr. Dr Usman and others. SE Mechanical Wing Mr. Usman presented a detailed report of modern boat bridges mostly used by other countries and details of the companies that are known for Boat Bridge construction on which Mr. Communication and Works Punjab Mr. Sohaib Ahmed Bherth instructed Mechanical Wing to remain in contact with these companies and make a policy about old boat bridges which were on old designs and infrastructures and were removed on April 15. He was also instructed to complete the work of modern bridges and to formulate a comprehensive policy about old bridges by 15 July, two months before their reinstallation. Mr. Sohaib Ahmed Bherth also instructed the Mechanical Wing to install modern equipment/infrastructures on old bridges and paint them with the installation of lights for nighttime usage.

    We are also planning to install docks Plastic Boat Bridges on five canals and it has been instructed to Mechanical Wing to work on it and to identify suitable places in this regard” he added. He also revealed that the uninstalled boat bridges would now be installed in need-based areas and places on 15 September, which is the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif. Mr. Sohaib Ahmed Bherth said that the temporary Boat Bridges remained installed from 15 September to 15 April for six months. Moreover, he also instructed the Mechanical Wing to start a survey to construct a Boat Bridge on a place/point connecting Sargodha, Khushab, and Jhelum within one week.
