LAHORE, Petition has been filed in Supreme Court (SC) Lahore registration seeking initiation of contempt of court proceedings against former Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif for delivering anti judiciary speeches during GT road rally. Petition has been filed by Mehmood Akhtar Naqvi on behalf of a private organization. The petitioner has taken the plea that Nawaz Sharif is delivering anti judiciary speeches at different venues during his rally and he is criticizing SC verdict in Panama case persistently.
He held that this act on part of Nawaz Sharif comes under the ambit of contempt of court. The death of a boy during rally was also mentioned in the petition. The petitioner prayed the court to initiate contempt of court proceeding against Nawaz Sharif besides banning the publication and broadcasting of Nawaz Sharif speeches. Action should also be taken against Nawaz Sharif over death of a boy during his rally.
