OSLO:Â President Sardar Muhammad Masood Khan held meeting with members of Norwegian parliament, speaker, deputy speaker and mayor of Oslo.
The President informed Norwegian parliament on the latest situation prevailing in India-held Kashmir and said Kashmir was an unfinished agenda of partition of subcontinent.
UN resolutions had granted Kashmiris their right of plebiscite to exercise their future in accordance with their aspirations but India kept denying it for the past 69 days, he added. “More than 800,000 Indian armed forces has clamped down curfew in the held valley and killing, blinding and injuring the people of J&K in their own land. Women, children and elderly people are being humiliated by the security forces while 150 Kashmiri youth had been martyred, vision of 600 had been damaged and more than 13000 had been woundedâ€, he said. He maintained there had been acute shortage of food and medicines in the valley multiplying the woes and miseries of the people.
Mr. Khan called upon the Norway to use its good offices to put pressure on India to stop these atrocities, brutalities and savagery in IHK. He expressed surprise that how people of India who participated in the liberation struggle against Britain were called hero and Kashmiris who are trying to free their land from forcible occupier are being dubbed as terrorist.
The members of Norwegian parliament assured the AJK President that they would raise the voice of people of Kashmir in their parliament. They also condemned the Indian atrocities and human rights abuses in IHK.
