Muzaffarabad: (Parliament Times) AJK Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Raja Nisar Ahmed Khan has said that necessary laws would be framed to address the environmental issues of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and to fight the climate changes in the region. Addressing a seminar as chief guest organized by Environment Protection Department of AJK Government, he said that draft the bill for the legislation in consultation with the experts of environment sciences. He stresses the need for creation of wider awareness about the environmental pollution and others related issues. The minister urged the people to keep their houses, localities and the cities clean and tidy to protect the environment and avert the diseases. He said that there is need to setup a task force for effective monitoring of the food items being provided to the citizen and to ensure their quality and nutrition value. He said that government is also considering enforcing stringent laws to ensure the better quality of food items in the state. The seminar was also address by Vice Chancellor Mirpur University of Science and Technology (MUST) Dr. Raja Habib –ur- Rehma, Director General Environment Raja Muhammad Razzaq Khan while Secretaries to the government, Dr Shelah Waqar, Muhammad Ahsan Khawaja and Muhammad Zahid Abbasi were also present on the occasion.
