MUZAFFARABAD: (Parliament Times) The AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan has directed the AJK food department to take step for a state of art food authority.
In a meeting chaired by him here on Tuesday the Premier said three mobile food authorities in the State may be established and added that no delay whatsoever would be tolerated in this connection. He also convened another high level meeting on January 4 to settle the resolvable problems faced to the food authority.
Mr. Haider also sought the detailed report of assets of food department. He directed the concerned officials to ensure safety of entire assets of this department. He ordered that under construction food depots may be completed at the earliest and a development scheme may be launched for setting up weight station of food department at Islamabad.
Mr. Haider also directed the concerned authorities to ensure safety of lands of AJK food department. “It is responsibility of this department to provide quality and cheap flour to the people of the State, apart from ensuring availability of flour at flour depots round the clock”, he added. He said AJK government was providing subsidy at the rate of forty kg per bag. He directed the food department to provide as much facilities to the people as are possible for them. He said international standard food authority is being set up to provide better food material to the people.
The Prime Minister was also given briefing on supply of food to the harsh winter areas of the State. He was told that enough flour was available in the winter areas of the State.
AJK Food Minister, Secretary Food, Secretary to PM were present in the meeting.
Meanwhile the Prime Minister felicitated the newly elected MLA of Poonch Hassan Ibrahim Khan and expected him to follow the footprints of his grandfather and father and play the role what they did in politics. He said elections in Poonch were held in a fair and transparent manner in which voters elected their constituent with complete freedom.
