LAHORE: Issuance of production order of Khawaja Saad Rafiq MNA from PML-N by speaker National Assembly has been challenged in Lahore High Court (LHC).
A petition has been filed in LHC by Azhar Siddique advocate head of Judicial Activism Panel taking the plea that National Assembly (NA) rule 108 runs contrary to law of the country. Allowing detained accused to attend assembly session during investigation is utter violation of laws. The current sitting of assembly was neither a budget session nor any important legislation was to be enacted therein. Saad Rafiq criticized NAB and national institutions.
He prayed the court to nullify NA rule 108 besides restraining the speaker NA from issuing production order in respect of accused members of assembly.
