MIRPUR (AJK):(Parliament Times) At least eight civilians including five women were injured as a result of unprovoked Indian firing and shelling on various forward villages located at this side of the line of control in Bhimbher and Kotli districts of Mirpur division of Azad Jammu Kashmir on Saturday. The Indian troops, without any provocation, resorted to unprovoked shelling from about 7.00 a.m Saturday targeting civilian populations in villages along the line of control leaving a total of eight civilians, including five house wives wounded. Three women have been seriously injuredâ€, the district administration officials of the two districts said while talking to this Correspondent on phone this afternoon.According to Police Officer of Rescue-15 Station Kotli, the locked house of a Germany-based Kashmiri expatriate Haji Rehman Ullah, in forward village Sabzkot in Charhoi sector of Kotli district caught fire that broke out following the Indian shelling on the village close to the LoC.
Three civilians, identified as Muhammad Sharif s/o Hussain Muhammad, Nisaar Ahmed s/o Muhammad Qurban and Aneela Begam wife of Khurram Shehzad Khathiyana sustained serious injuries as a result of unprovoked Indian shelling on various forward villages of Dana, Chahi, Dhandher, Poona, Khamba and Haripur on LoC in Samani sector of the Bhimbher district of AJK on Saturday, Deputy Commissioner Bhimbher Ch. Guftar Hussain said. Hussain said that Indian border troops started firing, without any provocation, targeting the local population of the above forward villages at about 7.00 in the morning. The unprovoked Indian firing was continuing till this afternoon intermittently, the DC added quoting the last reports coming in. He said that the injured persons have been admitted in DHQ Hospitals Mirpur and Bhimbher.
At the same time, Four other civilians including Muhammad Youns s/o Abdul Aziz, Samina wife of Muhammad Tufail, Rehana wife of Muhammad Atif and Mussarat Bibi wife of Muhammad Ashraf sustained serious injuries after Indian troops resorted to heavy shelling targeting the civilian populous forward villages of Rajdahani, Sahara, Nakayal, Khud Mathi Dhaira in Khuiratta sector of Kotli district Saturday morning. Similarly a house wife Afraz Begam wife of Sajid (55) was wounded in the unprovoked firing on forward village Sabzkot in Charhoi sector of Kotli district, the police officer said.The injured were rushed to District Hospital Kotli where their condition is stated to be out of danger. The firing was continuing intermittently till last reports came in, the police office said.Meanwhile, Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan has vehemently condemned the repeated incidents of the unprovoked firing by the Indian army on the LoC in various AJK sectors and described it the blatant aggression of the Indian military establishment.Farooq Haider said that India could not defuse Kashmiris indigenous struggle for the freedom and the right to self determination, which has reached at climax and point of no return, through such cowardly acts of the state terrorism in occupied Jammu & Kashmir and the repeated violations of the ceasefire on the Line of Control in Jammu & Kashmir state.
Meanwhile, the AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan has directed the Mirpur Kotli and Bhimbher District Headquarter Hospital authorities to provide best possible Medicare to the injured to ensure their timely recovery.The PM appealed to the United Nations Military Observers Group for India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP) stationed in Muzaffarabad and Rawalpindi to take the notice of killing of civilians on the LoC.
