Muzaffarabad, (Parliament Times) :: The Zonal Director of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) AJKconvened a significant meeting with District Councilors of Muzaffarabad in District Council office today to discuss strategies aimed at enhancing awareness and motivation among BISP beneficiaries for the forthcoming quarterly tranche (FY 2023-24)of Benazir Kafaalat Cash Grant.
The meeting, held at Baldia Hall Muzaffarabad, brought together key stakeholders committed to ensuring the effective disbursement of Benazir Kafaalat financial support to BISP beneficiaries across the State of AJ&K. The discussions centered on fostering a robust outreach program to educate beneficiaries about their entitlements and empower them with the necessary information to access the support provided by BISP.
During the meeting, the Zonal Director BISP AJK region, Dr. Abdul Aziz Qurashi emphasized the importance of proactive engagement of all Stakeholders including Local Representatives at the grassroots level to ensure that eligible beneficiaries are well-informed about the upcoming tranche of BISP Kafaalat Quarterly Cash Grant. Mayor of the capitalof AJK Muzaffarabad Syed Skindar Gillani reiterated the local administration’s commitment to collaborate closely with BISP authorities to facilitate seamless distribution processes and address any challenges faced by beneficiaries.
Recognizing the transformative impact of social welfare programs on the lives of vulnerable communities, both parties reaffirmed their dedication to promote financial inclusion and social security for deprived segment of the society. They underscored the need for concerted efforts to reach out to marginalized groups and empower them with the tools and resources needed to improve their socio-economic well-being.
As part of their collaborative efforts, the Zonal Director BISP and District Councilors outlined a comprehensive action plan that includes;Initiating awareness campaign at UC and ward level in collaboration with local authorities to provide assistance and guidance to BISP beneficiaries during Benazir Kafaalat disbursement phases, engagement with District administration, Local government, civil society, Social sector organizations, NGOs, and community leaders to mobilize support and strengthen the BISP social safety net for vulnerable populations.
The Zonal Director expressed gratitude to Mayor Syed Skindar Gillani, Deputy Mayor Khalid Awan and all District Councilors for their unwavering commitment to advancing the welfare of BISP beneficiaries and reiterated BISP’s commitment to fostering inclusive growth and eradication of poverty and elevating the status of marginalized and under privileged sections of society, especially women, through establishment of comprehensive Social Protection Net.
