Muzaffarabad: Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir organized a rally to pay homage to Shaheed Muhammad Ashraf Khan Sehrai in front of Central Press Club here on Sunday.

According to details, large number of people gathered carried banners, chanted slogans and expressed their determination to continue the mission of thousands of martyrs, including Ashraf Sehrai.

Speakers at rally said that Shaheed Muhammad Ashraf Khan Sehrai fought tirelessly throughout his life for the freedom of Kashmir, Islam, political, social and human rights of the Kashmiri people.

Shaheed Ashraf Sehrai along with Baba Hurriyat Shaheed Syed Ali Gillani traveled all parts of the state and taught Kashmiri people about Hurriyat and freedom.

They maintained that Sehrai not only informed the people of the remote areas, villages and cities of the Jammu and Kashmir about Indian coercive rule and colonial tactics, but also taught them the lesson of freedom from Indian coercive tyranny.

The speakers paid tribute to Shaheed Ashraf Sehrai and said that Shahad Quaid warned against Indian atrocities, conspiracies and worst political tricks throughout his life.

“Sehrai dedicated his son Junaid Sehrai for the freedom of Kashmir”, they added.

Ashraf Sehrai was martyred in the Indian prison but he did not surrender to the Indian rulers.

Speakers said that on May 5, 2021, the funeral of the 70 years old martyred Kashmiri leader Ashraf Khan Sehrai was taken from Udhampur Jail Jammu during his imprisonment, which is the worst example of the hatred and revenge of the Indian government towards the Kashmiri people.

The speakers said that the people of the state of Jammu and Kashmir will continue the mission of Shaheed Ashraf Sehrai.

Speakers also paid tribute to Ashraf Khan Sehrai, Syed Ali Gillani, Ali Muhammad Dar, Shams-ul-Haq, Ghulam Rasool Dar, Maqbool Butt, Afzal Guru, Burhan Wani, Abdul Ghani Lone, Maulvi Muhammad Farooq, Zia Mustafa, Sajjad Afghani, Usama Haider, Muhammad Ibrar, Abdul Wahab Rawalakoti, Sunnad Zafar and other martyrs of Kashmir freedom movement.

The rally was led Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami AJK Dr. Muhammad Mushtaq Khan, Chairman Pasban-e-Hurriyat Uzair Ahmed Ghazali, Hurriyat Leaders Zahid Saffi, Mushtaq-ul-Islam, Syed Shoaib Shah, Usman Ali Hashim, Shaukat Javed Mir, Syed Asif Gillani, Chaudhary Muhammad Ismail, Syed Hamza Shaheen, Siddique Dawood, Javed Ahmed Kaar, Muhammad Ismail, Muhammad Ishaq Shaheen and others.
