    Netherland’s Embassy celebrates King Willem-Alexander’s Birthday

    Islamabad, (Parliament Times) : The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Pakistan hosted a grand reception to celebrate the birthday of His Majesty King Willem-Alexander. The event, held at a local hotel, brought together distinguished guests including high-ranking government officials, prominent figures from civil society, members of the diplomatic community, and representatives from business and media sectors.

    In her address, Dutch Ambassador Henny de Vries highlighted the significance of King’s Day in the Netherlands, emphasizing the enduring partnership and friendship between the Netherlands and Pakistan, especially amidst the current global challenges. Ambassador de Vries underscored the strong bond between the two nations, which has transcended geographical boundaries throughout history.

    Acknowledging the global increase in tension and conflict, Ambassador de Vries called for an immediate ceasefire and humanitarian aid escalation in conflict zones, including Gaza. She stressed the importance of solidarity and cooperation in such turbulent times.

    The chief guest, Industries and Production Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain, extended warm wishes for the prosperity and progress of the Netherlands. He expressed confidence in further strengthening the friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries, contributing to peace, stability, and development.

    Highlighting the cultural exchange aspect of the event, the embassy invited distinguished Dutch musicians Eva Aukes and Anastasia Fridman to collaborate with local musicians. Eva Aukes, a renowned classical guitarist, and Anastasia Fridman, a versatile violinist and erhu performer, entertained the guests with a diverse repertoire, including national anthems and traditional songs.

    Local musicians Wajih Nizami and Irfan Khan from the RUNG School in Karachi joined the Dutch musicians in a memorable musical collaboration, symbolizing the cultural ties between the Netherlands and Pakistan.

    The celebration of King Willem-Alexander’s birthday served as a testament to the strong and enduring relationship between the Kingdom of the Netherlands and Pakistan, fostering mutual understanding, cooperation, and cultural exchange.
