    Spring plantation drive sets in Rawalpindi

    Rawalpindi, (Parliament Times) : Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Rawalpindi has announced to start first spring plantation drive in the garrison city and under the instructions of Director General PHA Ahmed Hassan Ranjha, green points have been established in the city to distribute five thousand saplings to the public free of cost.

    To promote awareness among the public in this regard, a flag march was also conducted by PHA in Rawalpindi city about the spring plantation campaign here on Tuesday.

    Setting a precedent to thrive the first spring plantation campaign and to engage the public in this campaigning, PHA Rawalpindi has also established ‘Green Points’ in different parts of the city to distribute free-of-cost saplings to the public as well as to make awareness and promote the importance of plantation.

    PHA Rawalpindi under this First Spring Plantation campaign
    will plant saplings at different places in the city and 5000 saplings have also been distributed to the public under the PHA Rawalpindi Spring Plantation drive.

    A flag march was also conducted here on Tuesday from Liaquat Bagh to Allama Iqbal Park at Murree Road to create awareness among the public about the importance of plantation.

    Director General PHA Rawalpindi Ahmed Hassan Ranjha said on this occasion that as per the instructions of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz, all possible steps will be taken to provide a green and clean recreational and tourist environment to the people of Rawalpindi.

    He said that green points have been established in the city and five thousand saplings have been distributed to the public free of charge to promote public participation in this spring plantation campaign.
