Mirpur,( AJK ), (Parliament Times) : President Azad Kashmir Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry has said that concerted efforts were required to foil India’s nefarious designs in the region.
While addressing Iftar dinner hosted in his honour by the people of Mirpur, the president said that the public laison drive that has been formally launched from Mirpur was aimed at exposing the atrocities being committed by the Indian occupation forces against Kashmiris in Occupied Kashmir and to highlight the Kashmir cause at the international level and freedom.He said that Modi was trying to use Kashmir as a trump card to ensure his party win in the upcoming general elections.Referring to the deteriorating situation in Occupied Kashmir, he said that under the given circumstances, it was the responsibility of every Kashmiri to play his or her full role to make the Kashmir’s ongoing freedom movement a success.The president said that he has no disagreement with anyone. “Earlier, I had united all the political leadership of the state on one platform on the cause of Kashmir”, he said, adding that he wished that all the political parties should join their hands and work together to advance the Kashmir issue.He said that after abrogation of article 370 by the Modi government, the role and responsibilities of the Kashmiri on this side of line control have increased manifold.He said that there has been an immense increase in the incidents of bloodshed and violence in restive region.
Modi’s fascist government, he said, has applied all means of oppression and brutality to suppress the freedom-spirit of the Kashmiri people.”But despite using its repressive state apparatus India has miserably failed to crush the Kashmiris’ passion and their urge for freedom of their motherland”, he said.
He said that overseas Kashmiris should also play their due role to promote the Kashmir cause at the international level and expose India’s ugly face before the world. Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry further said that all the problems of Mirpur will be solved on priority basis.”The issue of Rathoa Haryam Bridge will be resolved soon”, he said, adding that efforts were afoot to improve road infrastructure in the lake view city. In order to curb the growing unemployment, he said that employment opportunities would be provided to educated youth on the basis of merit.Earlier, the people of Mirpur accorded a warm welcomed to the president on his arrival to the Jinnah Stadium.The Iftar dinner was also attended and addressed by Minister for Housing and Physical Planning Chaudhry Yasir Sultan, Minister for Energy and Water Resources Chaudhry Arshad Hussain, Member Legislative Assembly Sabiha Siddique and Director General MDHA Chaudhry Muhammad Mansha and several others.
