Rawalpindi, (Parliament Times) : Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Saif Anwar Jappa visited the very first Business Facilitation Center of Rawalpindi Division established at Laiqat Bagh and made a detailed review of the NOCs issuance process. He also inquired about the quality of the facilities provided and the attitude of the staff while talking to the visitors who came to the center. On this occasion, the Manager center while giving a briefing said that 391 applications have been received so far in this business facilitation center which has been operational since 15 January 2024. Out of which 284 have been issued NOC and 107 are under process. The performance of all the departments sitting here is being monitored closely. At present, there are representatives of 14 departments in the facilitation center. Commissioner Rawalpindi directed that a desk for customs officials should also be added in the center and instructions have also been given to include representatives of FBR and Labor Department.
Saif Anwar Jappa further said that any setup is easy to create but it is difficult to run it successfully. This first Business Facilitation Center of Rawalpindi was completed in a very short period of time but its success depends on the quality of facilities provided here. He directed the heads of departments to keep visiting the center now and then. This will not only give their officials a sense of ownership but will also improve their performance. He said that requests received should be processed as soon as possible and the department which will perform most efficiently will be rewarded.
Commissioner Rawalpindi further said that the establishment of the center will provide all the facilities to the industrialists under one roof. The NOCs needed from various departments before setting up any business for regulatory procedures carried out by them will be under one window operation. This will firstly save them from visiting every concerned department and secondly will save their time. Hence will help generate economic activities that will employ people at the local level. He said that with the establishment of the center, business people will also be able to get NOC from here for business in other divisions apart from Rawalpindi.
