Quetta, (Parliament Times) : Senator Samina Mumtaz Zehri, while reacting to Operation Marg Bur sarmchar by the security forces, said that Pakistan’s sovereignty was challenged by Iran, to which Pakistan responded sensibly. She said that the Iranian government should have shown disgrace for the attack on innocent civilians in Pakistan or admitted the mistake but it was not done. She said that Pakistan will not allow any attack on its sovereignty and security and any capable of responding effectively to an action that threatens national security. Senator Samina Mumtaz Zehri praised the professionalism of the armed forces for targeting terrorist hideouts while saving Iranian citizens from casualties. She said that Pakistan and Iran are brotherly countries, and the issues need to be resolved through dialogue and mutual consultation, but Pakistan has the right to respond vigorously to acts against its sovereignty. She said that terrorists do not deserve any concession and that action will be taken against them wherever they are. Terrorists, whatever organization they belong to and wherever they are, want to make them believe that the enemies of the nation wherever they are. The infiltrators will be confronted by our brave security forces and the terrorists will be crushed with their nefarious intentions.
In her press statement, Senator Samina Mumtaz Zehri further said that Pakistan’s armed forces are always ready to ensure the safety of Pakistani citizens against terrorist acts and are fully capable of dealing with any cowardly act of terrorists. Senator Samina Mumtaz Zehri said that Pakistan is a responsible country and Pakistan’s action was not against Iran but against terrorist organizations that were involved in terrorist activities in Pakistan. She said that Pakistan wants peaceful relations with all neighboring countries including its neighbor Iran and always tries to solve challenges through dialogue. She said that Pakistan considers the Iranian people as friends and brothers and has no interest in aggravating the situation further.
Senator Samina Mumtaz Zehri further said that Pakistan is a peace-loving country, but this desire of ours should not be considered a weakness. We have all weapons and power, enemies know it, and friends also think. She said that Iran is our brother and neighboring country and this problem should be resolved at the foreign level for which both countries have to take positive steps because the enemy can take advantage of any kind of tension between the two brother countries. Senator Samina Mumtaz Zehri expressed hope that Iran will take effective action against terrorists and hideouts of organizations involved in anti-Pakistan activities within its borders so that terrorists cannot succeed in their nefarious intentions against Pakistan.
