Mirpur (AJK), (Parliament Times) : After Pakistan’s national blind cricket team’s great success against traditional rivals India in the finals of the International Blind Sports World Cup, when team captain Nisar Ali, head coach Muhammad Jameel, and player Kamran Akhtar reached their hometown Mirpur, Commissioner Mirpur Chaudhry Shaukat Ali organized a ceremony in honor of them in his office and gave the shield for the achievement.
On this occasion, Principal Professor Muhammad Ilyas Ayoub of Akab School, Special Assistant of SPK Azad Kashmir Assembly Syed Aizaz Hussain Shah, former President Press Club Sajjad Jaral, Team Head Coach Muhammad Jameel, Captain Nisar Ali, prominent British businessman Bashir Chughtai, Kamran Akhtar, and Irfan Majeed were also present.
On this occasion, Commissioner Mirpur Chaudhary Shaukat Ali paid tribute to the players for their excellent performance and said that the blind cricket team of Pakistan has proved that blind people are second to none in terms of ability and performance and if opportunities are available, visually impaired people can achieve success in every field of life.
Pakistan’s blind cricket team has made the whole nation proud with its brilliant success in the world tournament, This occasion is a double joy for the Mirpur people because both the team’s captain and head coach belong to Mirpur, he expressed.
On this occasion, Commissioner Mirpur Chaudhary Shaukat Ali commended the services of Akab School for the Blind, Principal Prof. Muhammad Ilyas Ayoub, for the education and training of blind children and the welfare of blind people.
