Quetta, (Parliament Times) : According to a press release of the Department of Home Affairs, Government of Balochistan, the implementation of the new rule of law of Balochistan 2023-26, has started, under which the citizens can be ensured access to justice. The government of Balochistan Proudly announced the launch of the newly endorsed Rule of Law Roadmap (ROLR) 2023-2026, in collaboration with the established Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).

Governor Balochistan Malik Abdul Wali Khan Kakar while saying It is trying to take all possible steps to improve the rule of law reforms, provide justice to the people of Balochistan, and increase the capacity of public access.

He further added, “Upholding the rule of law for the people is our primary responsibility and the roadmap is an important step in the right direction to ensure that we continue to deliver peace and security to the people of Balochistan,”

The Government of Balochistan reiterates its commitment to improving the rule of law and ensuring access to law by the common man in the most backward and vulnerable areas. A systematic and comprehensive document that will be a means of close communication for the effective implementation of reforms and governance for the next generation of the rule of law in the province to enhance the rule of law in the province. Ziaullah Langau, former Minister of Home Affairs, Government of Balochistan, said, “I appreciate the innovative approaches proposed by the Roadmap, which will advance evidence-based policy reforms in Balochistan’s criminal justice system,”.

All law enforcement agencies have consistently endorsed the Roadmap, demonstrating their commitment to building on solid foundations, regular stocktakes, and policy analysis. Newly reaffirmed. Abdul Aziz Uqaili, Chief Secretary Balochistan said, “The newly re-enacted Rule of Law Roadmap 2023-26, will help our rule of law institutions improve service delivery and increase citizens’ confidence in the justice system,”.

Salih Muhammad Nasir, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Home Affairs, acknowledged UNODC’s continuous technical assistance in designing the Rule of Law Roadmap and advancing satisfactory and timely reforms and law enforcement. International partners, particularly the European Union, have also provided substantial financial support for the Roadmap. UNDP and UN Women have also provided substantial support for the development of Balochistan’s Rule of Law Roadmap.

Key findings from the first phase of the program have also informed the endorsed Rule of Law Roadmap, which recommends specific improvements in program management strategies.
