Everyone should be liable to have fundamental rights and liberties in their respective states. The government and the state is the only source and Authority to protect the fundamental rights of the citizens. The main authorities including police, armed forces and the civil administration. But unfortunately, they failed to protect these rights and they are violating the certain basic rights of the citizens.
Extra judicial killings which are also known as extralegal killings, happen when someone is in the position of official authority and it is the most dangerous and heinous crime practice which means someone is doing the illegal practice by killing anyone beyond the due process of law by the official duty and authority. Extra judicial killing is an illegal practice and execution by the official authorities. It disgraced the basic human rights and infringes the right of life as well as the right to fair trail which is clearly declared by our constitution of Pakistan.
The nature of this act is totally illegal and unlawful which is carried out by the official authorities like police by giving deadly punishments including deaths by assassination, slaughter and mass killing. Everyone is entitled to civil, political, social, economic and cultural rights. The Pakistan constitution provides the protection of these all fundamental rights and particularly with protection of life. On the other hand the illegal and unlawful killing is a clear violation of human rights as well as fundamental rights.
The research examined the extrajudicial killing and its effects on the society are very bad. There are three organs namely the executive, the legislature and the judiciary are entrusted to perform their respective functions and they should protect the fundamental rights of the citizens at any cost otherwise it may be the threat to the public confidence towards the judiciary of the state. This violation can be seen clearly in the countries of south Asia like Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Nigeria and Nepal. The civilians have been victimized many times. According to the human rights watch, 1000 unlawful killings have been recorded over the past decade including civilians but the reports were not conclude officially. Extrajudicial killings by government officials and other powerful groups have been in practice in many countries but the reports are filed rarely. There are also cases of the custodian deaths which have been investigated but there is no such special law or acts or strong legislation made against this practice. Although the court has ordered to set up a special investigation and has recommended that the national Human rights commission should take an active part in it.
The United Nations provides for the protection of basic human rights as well as fundamental rights but it seems they never took strong steps for commanding governments for follow-ups.
