August 14th is an important day in the history of Pakistan. It commemorates the day when an independent Islamic state called “The Islamic Republic of Pakistan” appeared on the world map. The country of Pakistan, which came into being under the name of Kalma Tayyaba, gained independence from the British Empire in 1947. The meaning of Pakistan is “La ilaha illa Allah”. Great elders say that Pakistan came into being in the name of the word “La ilaha illa Allah”. As long as the word is alive, Pakistan will live. Those who erase it will be erased, it will not be erased. This day, Pakistan and being celebrated with great enthusiasm and respect among Pakistanis all over the world is an indication that the people of Pakistan love their country and hold it dear to their heart. 14th August, Pakistan’s Independence Day is a time to reflect the struggle, sacrifices and aspirations of those martyrs who fought and sacrificed their lives for the establishment of a sovereign and independent nation. It is the result of many years of hard work and the tireless efforts of leaders like Muhammad Ali Jinnah (ra) and Allama Iqbal (ra) that the demand for a separate homeland for Muslims in the Indian subcontinent eventually led to the formation of Pakistan as an independent state. On this day, Pakistani roads, vehicles and buildings are decorated with the national flag, and people wear green and white flag colors to show their patriotism. On this day, it is time for young Pakistanis to understand the importance of protecting their country’s sovereignty and working for a better future. Independence Day is also an opportunity to express solidarity with the oppressed people of Jammu and Kashmir, who are struggling for their right to self-determination. Pakistani people strongly support and pray that Allah may soon give freedom to Jammu and Kashmir from the clutches of the enemy. Pakistan today faces various challenges including socio-economic issues, security concerns and the need to strengthen democratic institutions. As the nation moves forward, it is important to uphold the ideals of justice, equality and progress that were central to the freedom movement. August 14th, the dawn of independence, is a momentous moment in the history of nations. It is the culmination of the struggles, sacrifices and aspirations of those who strive to govern themselves and shape their own destiny. The rights of the people in the independence of countries are not only a celebration of independence but also a proof of the principles of self-determination, autonomy and human dignity. Today, the country is free, but the dream of real freedom will be fulfilled when our rulers will free the people from all kinds of difficulties, free the country from foreign debts. Seventy-five years is a long time, but despite this, today the nation is facing inflation. The basic needs, including electricity, water and gas, are getting worse day by day. For years, the country has been at the mercy of foreign powers. The quest for freedom often emerges from the collective consciousness of a nation that aspires to be freed from colonial or oppressive rule. This struggle for self-determination forces communities to assert their identity, rights, values and demand universal recognition. Since independence is the essence of a nation’s ability to make decisions free from outside interference. It provides a framework for a country to formulate policies that reflect the aspirations of its citizens, shaping its domestic and foreign affairs. The right to sovereignty is a safeguard against colonialism and ensures that a nation’s destiny is determined by its own people, fostering a sense of ownership and pride. How can this nation are considered free whose decisions are taken by the rulers against the will of the people? 14th August, Independence Day signifies the opportunity to establish a government that upholds the principles of justice, equality and freedom. Citizens have the right to create a legal framework that protects their civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights, ensuring that the dignity of each person is upheld and protected. The right to international recognition as a sovereign entity empowers nations to express their concerns, advocate for their interests and contribute to the creation of a fair and just international order. Independent nations must uphold the principles of democracy, transparency and accountability to ensure that the rights of their citizens are protected and promoted. Good governance is essential to prevent the consolidation of power in the hands of a few and to promote the well-being of the entire population. Leadership is a position of privilege and power, but it also carries a heavy responsibility for the welfare of the people and the development of society. Whether in a democratic system, a monarchy or any other form of government, rulers play a vital role in ensuring the well-being, development and stability of their nations. The responsibilities of rulers go far beyond the exercise of authority. These include the golden principles of accountability, justice, compassion and commitment to serving the greater good. Rulers must be prepared to answer to their constituents, explain the reasoning behind their choices and invite constructive criticism. Upholding the rule of law ensures that all citizens are treated fairly. Regardless of their social or economic status. Rulers should ensure that the legal framework is uniformly applied and the justice system is impartial and free from political influence. If all these principles are followed then there will be a breath of true freedom. We should never forget the decree of Quaid-e-Azam (ra) on the occasion of the first anniversary of Pakistan, 14th August, 1948. Quaid-e-Azam (ra) said:”Remember, the establishment of Pakistan is an event that cannot be compared in history. It is the largest Islamic empire in the world And if we work with integrity, dedication and unselfishness, it will also grow magnificently year after year. I have full faith in my people. And I am sure that on every occasion they will act according to the history, glory and traditions of Islam. Nature has exalted you above everything. You have unlimited resources. The foundations of your kingdom are firmly laid. Now it’s your job to build it as fast and as good as possible. So go ahead and keep going.” “Pakistan Zinda Bad”
