Quetta, (Parliament Times): Balochistan Food Authority inspection teams imposed fines on 7 centers for violation of SOPs and recovery of expired and prohibited items while checking different food centers in Alamdar Road, Murriabad, and adjacent areas of Quetta. While many were issued rectification notices. According to the BFA spokesperson, two fined culinary houses were found to have expired spices, and substandard colors, and banned Chinese salt which was being used in the preparation of food. During the inspection, action was taken against 2 non-shops for the sale of low-weight naan, 2 hotels for poor sanitation, and use of poor cooking oil and non-food grade colors in dishes while Chinese salt was seized from 1 general store. During the operations, while confiscating the expired and unhealthy food items exported from the centers, the owners were strictly warned to ensure the implementation of SOPs and to use safe and healthy ingredients in the preparation of food items. Corrective notices were issued to 4 food centers for improper arrangements.
