The fatalities of a 3 years child and a woman at Ehsaas Kafalat Program payment centers in district Larkana and Ghotki have shocked and grieved me. I learned about these horrific incidents from social media. Poor planning, intense heat, and long waiting time, and a lack of first aid resources were the reasons for these deaths. The latest announcement of a one-time cash payment of Rs. 9,000 through Ehsas Kafalat program has left the payment centres crowded and in a state of turmoil. The lives and health of the recipients are seriously at risk as a result of this.I implore the administration of the BISP and the Sindh government to act immediately to resolve the matter. They should add more cash collection points, increase staff members, upgrade security, and give drinking water and sunshades. Additionally, they should conduct exit interviews, gather feedback, and make surprise visits to the programme in order to monitor and evaluate it. They should hire a consulting firm to make this process more accountable and transparent. Therefore, the terrible and avoidable deaths of these two individuals. I’m hoping the authorities will take action to prevent such instances from occurring in the future.
