The government is committed to ensure the supply of safe and effective vaccines, said SMA Professor Faizul Hasan while addressing the participants at the World Immunization Week Privilege Workshop at Kahana Indus Hospital. An awareness session on World Immunization Week has been organized at Kahana Indus Hospital under the direction & routine of every year the last week of April is celebrated as World Immunization Week in which a vaccination drive is conducted across the province to create awareness among people about the importance and effectiveness of vaccination to prevent 12 dangerous diseases. Professor Faiz-ul-Hassan urged the parents to vaccinate their children up to two years of age against deadly diseases and protect them against 12 dangerous diseases including tuberculosis, polio, diphtheria, whooping cough, tetanus, meningitis, Hepatitis B, diarrhoea, pneumonia, typhoid, measles and rubella. He has requested the parents to ensure that their children are vaccinated against deadly diseases to secure their future and enable them to live a healthy and happy life. The aim of observing this week is to protect more children from vaccine-preventable diseases and to create awareness about the importance of vaccines. He paid tribute to the frontline workers and said that the EPI teams are away ti play important role in facilitating vaccination in remote and backward areas sand their tireless efforts to keep their children safe from epidemics & services are commendable.
