Muzaffarabad/ MIRPUR (AJK), (Parliament Times) : Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan has said that KH Khurshid’s services for the promotion of democracy in Azad Kashmir, rule of law and supremacy of the constitution, will be remembered for a long time to come.
Terming KH Khurshid as a true democrat, the PM said that Khurshid e Millat’s selfless service to society and his unwavering struggle for democracy and the rule of law was a glowing chapter of Azad Kashmir’s parliamentary history.
Referring to the late leader’s political philosophy, the PM said, ” Freedom of the Indian Occupied territory of Jammu and Kashmir and the accession of the entire state to Pakistan was the ultimate objective of his year’s long struggle. ” KH Khurshid also played an important role in Tehreek-e-Pakistan”, the PM said, adding that there was a dire need to educate the young generation about KH Khurshid’s valuable contribution to the state. He asked the younger generation to study the life of KH Khursheed and take guidance from his struggle.He said that Khurshid e Millat had set a unique example of honesty, trust and patriotism in the field of politics.While paying tributes to Khurshid e Millat on his death anniversary, the prime minister said that the great leader, who was truly an icon of honesty, died in a road accident, while travelling in a public transport vehicle as an ordinary passenger with only 37 rupees in his pocket.
