MIRPUR (AJK),  (Parliament Times)  : .Hameed Shaheen Alvi, Adviser to ex-Premier AJK, has said that the right of people of Jammu and Kashmir to self-determination via an international plebsicite was unassailable as it was granted to them by the United Nations Security Council via its various Kashmir related resolutions.

“Those resolutions stand acccepted by Pakistan and India; the UN Security Council is the overseeing body to ensure implementation of self-determination right of Kashmiris”, he urged.

In his conversation here Monday to APP the Adviser explained that Kashmiris are not alone in their struggle to secure self-determination onus as the whole world through the UN forum stands committed to the restitution of rightfulness of of that basic right to the 23 million Kashmiris.

He said that Kashmiris can suffer more but cannot forsake their globally acknowledged right.

He suggested that diplomatic efforts should now onwards focus on formation of a UN General Assembly members Special Kashmir Committee to facilitate early solution of this dispute which has become a permanent source of non-peace immediately in South Asia. As many as 193 member states of the UNO do not acccept the India claims on Kashmir, and this makes a healthy support to Kashmiris.

Kashmiris, he said. want implementation of UN road map on Kashmir for the sake of lasting friendliness among South Asian countries.

He condemned continued atrocities of Indian occupying colonizers of Kashmir. Imprisoning Kashmiri political leaders, rights workers, peaceful women worsens the situation; he stressed restoration of pre-August 5, 2019 Kashmir’s status.

Replying a question the Adviser explained that to break the Indian obduracy over Kashmir an innovative proactive diplo diplomacy needs to be applied with unflinching resolve and forward push at three levels: regional, continental and global.
