Nature has endowed Kashmir with fanciful beauty and is rightly called as „Heaven on earth?. The history of Kashmir is interwoven with the Indian Subcontinent history that includes the surrounding regions of South-Asia, Central-Asia and East-Asia. Kashmir valley represents a bigger area including the Indian Administered Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, the territories administered by Pakistan, Azad Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, under the administration of China such as Aksar Chin and the trans-karakoram Tract. The valley of Kashmir, Ladakh and Jammu ruled by Hindu, Muslim, and Dogra rulers pose a serious problem on account of their geographical situation. It’s beautiful and scenic beauty of mountains, rivers, lakes, several kinds of fruits, flora and fauna and healthy climate; attract the attention of millions of tourists from all over the world. Rightly compared with Switzerland in many ways, people gather here to enjoy their time at several places which indeed have historical and religious importance. You may find here old monuments, temples and mosques built here long time back. The carpets, shawls, handicrafts, apples and other fruits catch the attention of exporters all over the world. Millions of rupees are collected from these exports. THIS IS KASHMIR: The culture of Kashmir encompasses the spoken language, written literature, cuisine, architecture, traditions and history of the Kashmiri people. The rich and wonderful culture of Kashmir is famous throughout the world. The height of Kashmiri culture is strongly influenced by people,arts,crafts,theatre, literature ,dances, music and so much more throughout the world. Additionally, it is renowned for it’s diversity as a result of the mixture of many cultures and religions there. The icing on the cake that heightens the ambiance is it’s rich history. CULTURE OF KASHMIR: Jammu and Kashmir has a diverse blend of many cultures. It has a composite culture created by people from different religions such as Hindu, Sikh, Muslim and Buddhist. This composite culture of Kashmir is also known as Kashmiriyat. The cultural significance of this place is great. The people of Kashmir have made huge contributions towards the world culture in the form of their crafts, written words, oral histories, science and philosophy. Most of the Tourists travel to Kashmir to experience the culture and traditions of Jammu and Kashmir. LANGUAGES OF KASHMIR: Jammu and Kashmir’s official languages include Kashmiri, Dogri, Hindi,Ladakhi,Purig, Tibetan, English and Urdu. The foremost language of Kashmir is Kashmiri. Hindi is mostly used by Gujjar and Kashmiri pandits. Dogri, also known at times as the Pahari language, this is mostly used by the people known as Dogras, from the Duggar region. Urdu is mostly used by the Muslims in the region. English is the world language that’s mostly used by businessmen, shopkeepers, guides and the locals for easier communication with the tourists. KASHMIRI PEOPLE AND ORIGIN: Kashmiri is a term used to refer to people who live in Kashmir. Typically, the native population of Kashmir lives in densely populated places in Pakistan, Northern Punjab and Potohar. The beliefs of central Asia and Persia also appear to have a significant influence on the culture. The valley is also well-known for it’s fine arts, which includes literature, handicrafts and traditionally indigenous boats and houseboats. TRADITIONAL DRESSES OF JAMMU AND KASHMIR: Kashmir’s colorful clothing have to be one of the region’s specialties. The women of Kashmir typically wear elaborate jewellery, including necklaces, armlets, earrings and nose rings, along with the traditional clothes. To avoid the heat of summer, people dress in loose shalwar and kameez. During winters, women dress in pheran, a long overcoat that’s exquisitely embellished with patches and embroidered work, throughout the winter. ARCHITECTURE OF KASHMIR: The Jhelum River served as the only mode of transportation at first, which led to the development of ghats as a landing area for transportation. Along the canals and riverfronts, a variety of homes with wooden balconies and intricate grid systems also emerged. The towns of Kashmir still have the same appearance as they did 300 years ago, and their wooden buildings with roofs are a throwback to the mediaeval European towns that once existed there. These towns have preserved the character of ancient Kashmir for many generations while preserving their culture and traditions. TOURISM OF KASHMIR: One will never run out of places to discover in Kashmir. The area is rich in picturesque landscapes, gorgeous vegetation, and stunning architecture. there are picturesque home stays. With its Pir Panjal and Karakoram mountains, the Himalayas are renowned for their unspoiled beauty and compassion. Jammu and Kashmir is surrounded by the most breathtaking mountain peaks, glaciers, beautiful blue lakes, rivers, woodlands, green wilderness, and tall pine trees. ARTS AND CRAFTS OF KASHMIR: Kashmir is a well-known hub for captivating arts and crafts with its handicrafts industry particularly thriving there. Kashmir Is nearly synonymous with pashmina shawls which are prized for their texture, and incredible quality. They’re particularly well-known for their warmth and tenderness. These shawls serve as a regal symbol. If one ever visits Kashmir, one simply must buy the intricate handicrafts as token of memory. Hand knotted carpets and wool rugs with floral motifs are two additional popular Kashmiri crafts. Simply said, as a souvenir from Kashmir, one must get the complex handicrafts.
