FAISALABAD: To meet the challenges of the 4th industrial revolution, there is a dire need for diversity and modernization in the industrial sectors of Faisalabad and in this regard, the Asian Productivity Organization will have to pay special attention to Faisalabad for the practical application of its Vision 2025. Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry( FCCI) President Dr. Khurram Tariq said this while addressing a special seminar on the importance of the innovation for the production of quality products. He appreciated the role and efforts of the National Productivity Organization and said that it would be our misfortune if the industrialists could not benefit from these facilities. He said that the NPO with the support of Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry will have to take such measures as a result of which the industrialists can be encouraged to adopt new technology away from the old diggers. He also said adding that currently the developed countries of the world are taking full advantage of the fourth industrial revolution, but our industrialists are still working with outdated technology, due to which not only our products are facing problems in the global markets, but Our cost of production is also increasing exponentially. Rejecting the fears of reduction in the demand of manpower regarding IT, he said that the role of manpower cannot be reduced in any case. In the era of IT, not only the importance of skilled manpower will increase, but also their remuneration will increase tremendously. Therefore, our higher educational institutions have to prepare such skilled youth who might meet the requirements of the coming era. Dr. Khurram Tariq elaborated that Pakistan is among the 21st countries of the Asian Productivity Organization. while 8 countries later joined this organization. He said that instead of focusing on all the sectors simultaneously, the NPO should choose one sector and try to modernize it with the support of the Chamber. Earlier, Dr. Ali Sajid emphasized the need to increase industrial and agricultural production and said that without it, the national economy cannot be developed on a stable and sustainable basis. In this regard, he also emphasized on linkages between industry and academia so that decisions and actions can be taken according to the ground realities to solve the challenges faced by the industries. He also highlighted the importance of quality in industrial development and said that we have to gradually bring the quality of our products to international standards. He mentioned the progress of China and America and said that they progressed only because of new inventions and technology and today the whole world recognizes their progress. Muhammad Zabiya Abbasi also addressed the event.
