Quetta, (Parliament Times) : Provincial Information Secretary Hamza Shafaqat has said that journalism is the fourth pillar of the state. Journalists are responsible for conveying correct information to the public. Struggle is needed for the education of women and girls, the information department is being developed on modern lines, information officers have been appointed in all departments under the Access to Information Act. We need to use social media in a positive manner. He expressed these views while addressing a function at the end of a two-day session for training journalists under the auspices of the International Rescue Committee (IRC). Consultant Haroon Shoaib and others were also present on this occasion. Information Secretary Hamza Shafqat said that journalism is the fourth pillar of the state. The journalist has the responsibility of conveying the right information to the people by which the people can be empowered. There should be a goal with the truth so that the society can move towards the betterment of Balochistan in many ways. It is better than the provinces. He said that the rate of education in Balochistan is low, especially for women, as in Nigeria, education is obligatory for both men and women in Islam. Media can play an important role in reducing a negative impact in society. But Bangladesh also worked to reduce the population. Education and awareness is the only solution to control the population, he said that the media can play an important role regarding the agenda.
It is important that the media presents the agenda under the awareness campaign regarding the education of women and girls.
