MIRPUR [AJK]  (Parliament Times) : Kashmiri immigrants across the globe have started sending home remittances to their determined destinations payable at the state-run Bank of AJK branches in Azad Jammu and Kashmir via Western Union, an organization working in 200 countries and regions.

In the context of receiving home remittances from the BAJK branches via Western Union, an agreement was signed with Sindh Bank in the State metropolis

Khan Abdul Majid Khan, AJK Minister for Finance, Cooperatives and Inland Revenue who is also Chairman Board of Directors BAJK was the chief guest on this occasion.. Khawar Saeed, President/CEO BAJK and other executives of the either side were present on this occasion/

Later in a review meeting held under the chairmanship of BAJK President, it was told that the positive results of the home remittances agreement via Western Union are coming out while prompt and timely payment of the amounts sent by the emigrants to Azad Kashmir has helped the customers to boost their confidence in this institution.

BAJK spokesperson said “since overseas Kashmiris are our valuable asset, the state owned financial institution is making serious efforts in ensuring the provision of all possible facilities to Kashmiri Diaspora through the network of 82 branches of BAJK across the state”.

It may be mentioned here that the branches of BAJK were offering latest banking services to the customers even in remote areas where no other bank can reach them.
