Humor is the tendency to look at things from the mirthful or incongruous side. The quality that makes something laughable and amusing. It is said that humor is the sweet sap of our life. What is your take on it? Do you feel it is a vital necessity for us? Yes, it is essential in life. Sometimes we get so much stress in life that the small humor of someone makes us relaxed and refreshed for a moment. We can not be serious all the time in life. To free the mind from the clouds of daily implications, the role of humor is important, some sort of freedom we will have. For example, if you are a movie lover, you will watch a comedy after a serious scene. This is to free your mind from the impact of the previous scene. Similarly, in life, humor frees us from life’s seriousness and though it is a temporary phase of life, the importance is felt high. Similarly for teachers who are experts in their fields but are not able to engage the students and build a bond. Due to the increase in the burden of examinations, students are under stress and tension. Furthermore, students find teaching strategies absolutely boring without elements of connection. For elusive connections with students, teachers have to explore different ways of teaching that can make the environment interesting and meaningful. For making the students engaged and awake in the classroom, teachers must create a conducive environment by reducing their stress. Using humor is one of the techniques which helps the students to cope with stress. As in the view of Tong and Tsung(2020), teachers must incorporate humor strategically in their teaching, which may contribute to long desires of their learning. A hint of self-deprecating humor can also be a useful tool for leaders and employees to make themselves more approachable. Studies have revealed that when leaders and employees share this style of self-effacing banter, employees tend to gain even more professional respect for leaders, a counterintuitive finding for leaders who are afraid to show weakness. Humor helps us cope, conquer, and carry on. It is needed by all and sundry equally. People always try to find something to laugh at to make their life less monotonous. Some people find humor in books, some on television, gossip, cinema, etc. in olden times, people did not have much means of entertainment. Many great literary figures created a lot of genial humor. Geoffrey Chaucer, one of the greatest English writers, is considered to be the first great humorist of Europe. His humor was a combination of wit, fun, gentle humor, and satire. The greatest English dramatist, William Shakespeare, also created a number of comedies, which are still a great source of gentle humor. Shakespeare’s comedies have a mix of wit, satire, humor, and farce since they were meant for the sophisticated and the rustic alike. To conclude, humor is something that can not be separated from human life, particularly for people who deal with others in everyday business. Creation of humor is the easiest way to cope with anxiety and the most applicable as well. Those tend to utilize a affiliative humor style which can elevate happiness among colleagues. The sound changing can certainly make those who are in humorous situations feel happy that their interpersonal relationships will be good, so the working relationships get better both personal and office matters.
