MIRPUR (AJK), (Parliament Times) : Syed Ali Asghar Shah, senior BPS-20 officer of Azad Government of the State of Jammu & Kashmir, has been promoted and posted as Managing Director of the State-run Azad Jammu Kashmir Small Industries Corporation.
He has started performing duties after assuming the charge of the office with immediate effect, according to a media release.
Syed Ali Asghar Shah, was earlier performing as Director AJK State Sericulture Department before he was elevated to head the AJK Small Industries Corporation, in view of his long distinguished career in different key slots in various public-sector functionaries of the AJK State government.
Service Profile:
After doing his post graduation in Economics and successfully qualifying Public Service Commission Shah sb. joined as Assistant Director Industries & Commerce BPS-17, at Industrial Estate Bhimber during June 1990.
Thereafter, he was promoted as Deputy Director Industries BPS – 18 in 1996 and also performed his duties up-to 2007 as Project Manager New Industrial Area Mirpur, Principal Vocational Training Institute Kotli as well as in Mirpur besides serving in Planning Wing of Directorate of Industries Muzaffarabad.
In March 2007 Syed Ali Asghar Shah was promoted as Joint Director BPS-19, and performed his duties with full dedication for Labour Welfare, Registration of Companies, Firms, Welfare Societies and Trade Unions etc.
While securing due promotion and induction as Director Industries and Labour Welfare AJ&K government, successfully performed some remarkable assignments and completing POL Quality Contol Labs at Mirpur and infrastructural improvements of the Industrial Estates of AJK. Dozens of Labour Welfare Laws also promulgated including first ever Labour Policy of AJ&K with close coordination of ILO during his placement as Director Labour.
After induction as Director Department of Sericulture in AJK, Syed Ali Asghar Shah successfully performed with full dedications for poverty alleviation and economic uplift of poor and landless farmers including women folk of the remote areas of the State.
During his stay he completed training to 1500 farmers in the field of mulberry plantation and silkworm rearing across the State including various awareness workshops with coordinations of Academia and other allied departments of the state as well as Punjab and KPK Provinces of Pakistan.
Being head of the State Sericulture Dparment, Syed Ali Asghar Shah also introduced Sericulture the traditional home based industry at national level by participating in National Cultural Exhibitions organised at LOK Virsa Islamabad during last consecutive years.
His efforts regarding introduction of imported silk seed and invitation to Academia in the field of research and development for Sericulture has opened a new window of hope for the sector.
Keeping in view his dedicated hard working, the senior officer of the State, who joined his service during June 1990 has been promoted and posted as Managing Director Azad Kashmir Small Industries Corporation in BPS-20.
He also served as Special Price Control Magistrate of the State Department of Commerce and Industries in AJK delegated powers with restructuring of Price Control Committees in the State during the era for active performance.
Shah sb. also performed as Controller of Prices and Chief Inspector Explosives of AJK including Registrar of Joint Stock Companies under Corporate Law Authority (CLA)and Registrar Trade Unions of AJ&K
