Lahore : (CCPO) Lahore Additional IG Ghulam Mehmood Dogar presided over the anti-crime review meeting held at Capital City Police Headquarters. DIG Operations Afzal Ahmad Kausar, DIG Investigation Athar Ismael, SSP Investion Hussnain Haider, all SsP of all units including Operations, Investigation, Dolphin Squad, CRO, ARF along with ASsP and other related officers participated in the meeting. Additional IG Ghulam Mahmood Dogar reviewed the overall crime control and law and order situation. Ghulam Mahmood Dogar also reviewed the progress in the cases under investigation of heinous crimes including murder, attempt of murder, robbery, motorcycle theft, extortion and kidnapping. CCPO Lahore Ghulam Mahmood Dogar urged the senior police officers to improve their performance in preventive operations and investigation matters so as to control crime and ensure conviction of the accused criminals. Ghulam Mahmood Dogar directed them to ensure hundred percent biometric attendance in all police stations and police offices of Lahore Police. He further directed all the senior officers including DIsG and SSsP to improve their public exposure, moving in the field and improving interaction with public, holding Open Courts at least once in a week to address the issues of citizens at the doorsteps. Representative officers of Investigation, Operations, Dolphin Squad, AVLS and other related units should be present in the Open Courts so as to resolve issues of complainants related to them. Ghulam Mahmood Dogar said that there should be an effective crackdown on drug-selling at public places, educational institutions and adjacent areas. Accelerate the crackdown against miscreants, proclaimed offenders, land grabbers and facilitators of organized gangs of beggars. CCPO Lahore ordered to ensure the immediate and indiscriminate arrest of those who harass citizens through show of weapons and aerial firing riding in double cabin vehicles. Strict action would be taken on delay in registration of FIR and undue pendency of applications at Front Desks of Police Stations, he added CCPO Lahore directed to dispose of pending cases of Complaint Management System (CMS) as soon as possible. He directed to initiate effective strategies for providing better services to the citizens as well as crime control, arrest of criminals and community policing to ensure the delivery of justice. Investigation of the cases must be completed timely on merit. Ghulam Mahmood Dogar said that there has been a significant reduction in the incidents of motorcycle and car theft and snatching, but there is still dire need to improve the rate of challaning to bring the criminals to justice. CCPO Lahore emphasized the need to improve coordination with Punjab Forensic Science Lab and Punjab Safe Cities Authority for improvement in preemptive measures against crimes and speedy investigation of cases. Ghulam Mahmood Dogar stressed upon the need to speed up police action under Local and Special Laws including illegal weapons, kite flying, one wheeling, Loudspeaker and Tenants Registration Act.
