Pakistan’s flooding is a combination of corruption, mismanagement, and climate change. According to various reports, Pakistan every year confronts with catastrophic flooding, heavy monsoon rain that yearly increases on, and face worst environmental disasters caused by the developed countries. This year, Pakistan fall in the hands of a heavy and frightening monsoon rain in the mid of the year. Pakistani government was constantly being warned and threatened about the climate change but didn’t pay any special attention to take early steps in order to resist with climate hazards. More, Pakistan is not prepared for such ramifications somewhere in the middle of mismanagement and climate change. In accordance with dawn report, Pakistan is suffering from regular floods since 2010. In addition to this, government has played no any role to make strong and effective policies, and future planning to cope with these regular flood. Hence, Corruption, mismanagement, and government recklessness about climate has made Pakistan face much destruction and natural hazards. Moreover, Pakistan saw worst environmental implications after this monsoon rain and flood this year. Additionally, One-third of the country came under water, 1600 people died, and 33 million have been impacted. According to latest statistics show that 325,000 homes were destroyed, 735,000 livestock were lost, 2m acre crops were damaged, 1600 people injured, and 1600 people lost their lives. And the direct damage to roads, homes, livestock, and crops is over 3 billion dollars. This worth is an astronomical amount for a developing and economically weak country. The Global Climate Risk Index 2021 ranked Pakistan as one of the most vulnerable countries in the world to climate change and extreme weather events, despite being one of the lowest carbon emitter in the world. Hence, Pakistan is facing extremely worst consequences this year. Where there is a will, there is a way. If these political parties were earnest with the country, they could have saved the country form such destruction at a large scale. Further, weak governance, cooperation, policies, and political instability have led the country towards devastation. Political instability is weakening the country and its development. There are no effective urban, and rural planning. There are no well drainage systems to regulate the water in the canals from the cities. Pakistan government has no future planning to take every intense situation into trap and find way forwards. Therefore, corruption, mismanagement, weak policies, no future planning, no cautions taken to avert climate change, and political instability has caused Pakistan to be hit severely and destroyed by natural and climate disasters.
