HUB: The focal person for flood victims of Balochistan Senator Samina Mumtaz Zahri has said that Balochistan has been the most affected by heavy rains and floods and relief and rehabilitation are still ongoing. The damage in Lasbela district has been so much that it will take a long time for the situation to improve, but it is very sad to say that some influential personalities have started using this situation to achieve their political goals. In the name of flood victims, the influence of influential figures to settle people from other provinces in Hub and other areas is equivalent to cruelty to the flood victims of Balochistan. Influential personalities are bringing people to settle in the name of flood victims, which we strongly condemn.
She said that Balochistan province has been the most affected by rains and floods and so far the affected people have been resettled. The resettlement and their welfare work is also going on but the damage is so much that the restoration work may take a long time. In Lasbela and Hub districts, which has already been declared a disaster, for their personal and political interests, thousands of people in more than 200 buses from other provinces in the name of the flood victims in Hub, Sakran, Vinder and other adjacent areas have been sent by influential personalities. Number of people have been resettled, which is completely unfair to the people of Balochistan, but it is a violation of the rights of the original owners of Balochistan.
Thousands of people are affected in the affected district, resources are urgently needed for their rehabilitation and we are making efforts day and night for the relief and rehabilitation of the flood victims of Balochistan without any color, caste or prejudice, keeping aside the political differences and our efforts. It is necessary to convey the right to the rightful one, but a few influential people have started settling the people brought from other areas of Sindh for their personal and political interests, while these personalities were nowhere to be seen during the days of rains and floods. Now that the situation is somewhat under control, they are trying unsuccessfully to score political points by using negative tactics to achieve their political goals. The people of the said area know very well who their benefactor is and who was with them in difficult times. Conscious people will not fall for the hollow slogans and negative political tactics of the so-called representatives.
She said that Victims were seen in flood relief and welfare work and were among the people in pain and suffering, but on the contrary, they were nowhere to be seen in that difficult time and now even in natural calamities like floods. They are using it for their political and personal interests. She said that we have done this for the help and welfare of the flood victims, away from politics and without color, caste and prejudice, only for the service of suffering humanity and for the pleasure of ALLAH. Work has been done and we are happy that we were able to help the brothers and sisters affected by rains and floods to some extent and all this was possible by the command and grace of ALLAH, which has also been appreciated by the public. We pray that ALLAH Almighty will help us and may more people, who have the pain of humanity in their hearts, give courage and strength to our brothers and sisters who are stuck in trouble and all possible resources will be utilized for the purpose of resettling the victims in their homes as soon as possible
