MITHI: A thari young boy Ajeet Singh without caring for his life chased the hunters with his jeep and forced them to surrender himself before villagers. The hunters after hunting as many as eight rare deer from village Rangilo near Chelhar town on the wee hours of Tuesday tried to escape the area when Ajjet followed them with his jeep and managed to intercept them by hitting their vehicle with a jeep . The hunters fired at Ajeet and other villagers with guns but Ajeet and other villagers remained adamant and did not allow them to flee. The several hundred residents of the nearby villages also gathered at the venue and after catching three hunters handed them over to Mithi police, while hunts managed to escape from the scene. Mithi police on the complaint of onee Saroop Singh registered the FIR against five suspects under the relevant sections of Pakistan Penal Code.
The villagers carrying the carcesses of hunting deer staged the demonstration at Kashmir Chowk in Mithi where members of the civil society and rights activists also joined them in their protest, The protesters demanded the arrest of the hunters involved in the incidents and the registration of FIRs under anti-terrorims act to avoid such incidents in future. Ajeet Sindh Sodha and other villagers said that they remained unhurt when they had chased the hunters. The members of the civil society, lawyers, rights activists talking to the media deplored the fact that there was the need to amend the existing laws of the wildlife department in Sindh Assembly so that hunters and poachers in the areas like Thar be given the severe punishment since the existing laws had loopholes which benefited the hunters and poachers.

Sindh Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah taking the notice of the incident suspended four officials of the wildlife department including Riaz Rind, the deputy conservative officer for their failure to protect the rare species even in sanctuary, The members of Thar Bar Association have announced not to plead the case of the hunters saying that they would never help those who were involved in such incident and against the natural beauty of Tharparkar.
