Panjgur is one of the three districts of Makran devision. It has three tehsils which are Panjgur, Paroom and Gichk, and has sixteen union counsells. Despite being a major city, regrettably, unemployment in Panjgur is increasing rapidly due to this people of Pungur are compelled to be indulged in illegal activities, such as; smuggling oil and drugs to make ends meet. In fact, these are the only resources to earn a livelihood because neither it has factories nor job opportunities. Moreover, for smuggling oil, one has to buy a zamyad or pick-up car to earn some money which every body can’t afford as these cars cost two to three millions. However, smuggling oil is risky as drivers go through risky routes in order to escape from the authorities. They often meet with fatal accidents and lose their precious lives. In most of the cases, oil causes fire in vehicles which burns alive the insiders. If there were factories and other employment opportunities like other provinces, the people of Panjgur wouldn’t have struggled for a livelihood . To sum up, I request all the concerned authorities to take immediate steps in order solve this issue as soon as possible.
