Muzaffarabad, (Parliament Times) : Chairman Pasban-e-Hurriyat Uzair Ahmad Ghazali has said that around 23 thousand women have been widowed due to Indian war crimes in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir(IIOJ&K).
In a statement issued on International Widows’ Day, he strongly condemned the silence of international organizations on the worst atrocities committed against the widows whose men were brutally martyred by Indian troops.
While mentioning the figures, he said that 22,944 Kashmiri women were widowed whose husbands were brutally martyred by Indian army during fake encounters.
“In the last 32 years, 10342 male civilians have been forcibly removed from their homes by Indian troops and disappeared till date”, he added.
He lamented that world conscience do not feel the pain and agony of widows and semi-widows of IIOJ&K.
“International Widows’ Day is a day of remembrance for the world to understand the plight of Kashmiri widows and semi-widows” he stated.
Ghazi called on the United Nations and international human rights bodies to take notice of the Indian war crimes and demanded immediate recovery of the missing Kashmiri citizens and stand with the sorrow and grief of semi-widows in IIOJ&K.
