EPI AJK is working day and night for the success of “Clean Kashmir, Polio Free Kashmir”. To make the state of Azad Jammu and Kashmir polio free, along with the Public Health Department, besides the media, social media activists should also play their role. Parents should feel responsible for getting polio vaccine and immunizations to protect their childrens from the deadly disease. Only the cooperation of the people can save the state from diseases like polio. These views were expressed by Dr. Abdul Sattar Khan, Provincial Program Manager, EPI Azad Kashmir, while talking to the media in an exclusive interview before the launch of the five-day polio campaign in AJK.Dr. Abdul Sattar Khan said that simultaneous polio campaign is being launched in all the districts of Azad Kashmir. In the door-to-door campaign, children under the age of five will be vaccinated against polio and given vitamin A drops. One lakh ten thousand one hundred and twenty five children will be vaccinated against polio. He said “We have also set up 156 points at entry points, including 432 local hospitals and health centers. The door-to-door campaign will continue every morning from 8 am to 4 pm,” He further said that We have appointed 245 UC Supervisors at Union Council level, 35 Tehsil Supervisors at Tehsil level and 844 Area Incharges to supervise these teams , the system would also be monitored by officials from WHO, Federal EPI Cell Islamabad and Public Health Department. Dr. Abdul Sattar Khan has also requested all schools of thought to play their role for the success of this campaign by presenting proof of love for the homeland.
