Naseebullah Khan
By profession, he was an MBBS doctor. By nature, he was a humanist and a pacifist. He was a true democrat and at the same time, he was a sincere nationalist. He started his political career when he was in his initial stage of intermediate education when he was arrested during a protest against the dictatorship of General Zia ul Haq. This was the tipping point of his future when he did not see behind and played a cardinal role in nationalist politics for which the PKMAP provided him with a platform. He soon became a prominent figure in student politics in Balochistan after becoming the Zonal Secretary of the PSO. During his 40 years of life, he remained in important slots of the PSO and the PKMAP for over 21 years which was equal to more than his half_life. During his struggle and commitment to his cause and his party, he suffered merciless brutality, torture, fake cases, and imprisonment. The more he was ill-treated the more he came out strong. As a pacifist, he played a pertinent role in resolving the internal clan feuds of the people. He used traditional Pashtun codes of Pashtunwali such as Jirga (Council of elders), Nanawatai (Sanctuary), and poar (Fine). Once, he told the writer that he had mediated around one thousand individual and collective foes. As a humanist, his role supersedes his political career and his pacifism. He was, undoubtedly, an icon of humanism. He was a man of great human qualities such as his respect for fellow humans, providing aid to the needy, and helping the deserving students through their educational careers. His most important contribution was his services in the medical field. As a doctor, he was a dutiful employee. He used to run a private Clinic in his native city Chaman where the poor were treated free of cost. At the same time, he was a man of literary taste, a study lover, and a literary figure. He authored a book of Pashto poetry whereas he had a good command of short stories and travelogues. When Doctor Abdul Samad Achakzai was Martyred in 2006, I, as his nephew, his family, and the city had lost an irreparable soul. It has been 16 years since his departure but his memories are still alive. He was truly a man of history, literature, politics, Humanity, and peace.
