MIRPUR (AJK), (Parliament Times) : Azad Jammu and Kashmir President Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry has said that India’s racist regime led by Narendar Modi was hell bent on changing the demographic complexion of the occupied Jammu and Kashmir to reduce Kashmiri Muslims into a minority.
The AJK president expressed these views while addressing a public meeting at Circuit House in Rawalakot on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that after stripping the occupied territory of its autonomous status the Hindutva influenced regime was still hatching conspiracies to further erode the political and cultural identity of the Kashmiris who have been reeling under the Indian oppression for the past several decades.
Referring to the worsening situation in the UN recognised disputed territory Barrister Chaudhary said that after Modi government’s unilateral decision to repeal article 370 and 35 A of the Indian constitution, the Kashmir issue has entered into a critical juncture. In a bid to change the region’s demography, he pointed out that the authorities at the helm of affairs in the occupied Kashmir had issued domiciles to 4.2 million non-state Hindus.
He said that it was our duty to raise the voice in support of our brethren in the occupied Kashmir who were being brutally suppressed by the Indian forces.Reiterating his commitment to the Kashmir cause, the AJK president said that he would leave no stone unturned to promote and project Kashmir cause both at national and international level. He said that the Azad Kashmir would be converted into a true base for the Freedom of the Indian occupied Kashmir.
He said that a comprehensive plan has been devised to bring to focus the brutal atrocities Indian occupation forces have been committing in IoK.
As part of the campaign, he said, a massive public rally will be held on February 24 from National Press Club to D Chowk in Islamabad, which will be participated by the political leadership of Azad Kashmir. He urged the masses to participate fully in the Kashmir rally to send a strong solidarity message on the other side of the LoC.
Others who spoke on the occasion included Minister for Population Welfare Sardar Muhammad Hussain Khan, Chief of Jammu and Kashmir People’s Party Sardar Hassan Ibrahim, Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Poonch Sardar Zahid Rafique and several others.
Addressing a similar function at Dhirkot, President AJK Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry urged the masses to participate in the upcoming Kashmir rally to show their allegiance to Kashmir cause.
