In our day to day life, electronic devices have become an important part. In 21st century we cannot imagine our daily tasks to be fulfilled. These devices make all the work more efficient and effective by embroiling artificial intelligence within. Now a days we cannot even imagine that almost every kind of electronic device is now available whether it is a big task or small one. Just take a single minute and think of the devices that are around you , a smartphone in your pocket , an electric whisk in your kitchen , Wi-Fi router in the living room , a robot vacuum on the floor and much much more. Every second, every minute these devices are making our lives easier and help us to stay connected to the real world at real time. Not only they help us to be more swiftly and streamlined, they also enhance the cognitive learning and also develop our analytical skills. They also enhance our creativity, investigation skills, strategic as well as innovative thinking. All these machines and devices also help in building manual dexterity and literacy. According to “Campustechnology.com”, 75% of the students say that using smartphone during class improved their ability to learn and retain information. Similarly there can be seen many other cases all over the world which proves that devices are helping us in a life changing manner. Most importantly it bring forth many benefits in terms of safety when it comes to home security and medical devices. Now imagine a world without all this, where all this technology and devices gets suddenly unavailable, all the way from Jetsons to Flintstone. All the communication will be disrupted and world will be collapsed. The transactions that are made on daily basis will be ceased. There will be no tracking of daily shipments due to unavailability of GPS devices. The information that we get in minutes will take hours to find. The bond between human and gadgets in unbreakable, without it life would be miserable. The Covid-19, however, was taking us towards something similar. Due to lack of workforce and logistics supply issues there was a big pause in the production of electronics components. Many famous companies like AliExpress, Amazon, Daraz etc discontinued their deliveries across the globe which included most of the electronics products and ultimately effected the electronics industry. As we know that China is the biggest producer as well as exporter of electronic components which are required to finish the electronic goods and due to rise of Covid-19 in China, this all halted the production which ultimately resulted in the hold on the production of electronic manufactured by Europe, USA and many other top of the line companies which leaded towards the omission of supply and demand of electronic products. Due to Covid-19 the manufacturers in the electronic industry usually had to go to a delay for at least 5 weeks due to pandemic. Where all the problem were? Well, it’s simply to say in the supply chain. The most popular consumer electronic now a days is a smartphone , during the peak of Covid-19 there was also a big halt in its production and so the supply of new phones, mostly smaller companies like Infinix, Itel, Tecno etc were mostly effected. Take the example of ventilator, which was one of the biggest life saver during the pandemic especially in Pakistan, for a population of 212.8 million, there were only 1650 of ventilators were available, and due to increase in demand and pandemic issues, the production and well as delivery was all disrupted because of the supply chain issues from point of origin till point of delivery. Concluding this we can say that if the supply chain gets more effected due to such scenarios or pandemics, we cannot imagine how much issues there will be in terms of delivery of products and their manufacturing, like if we won’t have gadgets like smartphones or laptops or good internet how are we going to do e-shopping ? And even if we do, how are we going to get it delivered if there is no proper supply chain. The system is now collated like a web, one snap like this and it’s gone. So overall, electronic devices and components are a need but to fulfill the need a good supply chain is always needed!
