Shangla, Deputy Commissioner Shangla Hamid-ur-Rehman and Agriculture Officer Jan Mohammad formally inaugurated the Prime Minister’s Agriculture Emergency Program at Alpuri. In the first phase of the program, wheat seeds will be provided to a total of 1,500 farmers across the district. Subsidies will also be given on fertilizers and pesticides. Talking to media, Deputy Commissioner Shangla Hamid-ur-Rehman said that the main objective of this program is to revolutionize the agriculture sector and make farmers self-sufficient. Agriculture is the backbone of prosperity, development in Country, agriculture is essential for a prosperous Pakistan, Deputy Commissioner Shangla further said that hundreds of farmers would benefit from this program and wheat production would also increase.Speaking on the occasion, Agriculture Officer Shangla Jan Mohammad said that in the first phase of the project, 1,500 farmers would be given certified seeds in which farmers would also get a subsidy of Rs 1,200. To augment the government has also subsidized phosphorus fertilizers and this amount can be obtained through the farmer community farmer card. This is a very transparent program running through the online system.The Agriculture Officer also taught the farming community how to increase wheat production and avoid losses and assured them of further reforms in the agricultural sector and continued cooperation with the farmers.
