There is no denying the fact that teachers, in Sindh government, had been recruited through various testing bodies in different regime. It includes Sindh University Testing Centre (SUTC), National Testing Service (NTS) and Sukkur IBA Testing Services (STS), the current recruitment body. If one traces back the history of such recruitments, one can easily come to know that every time, there were no less than hue and cry among the aspirants throughout different years of history. It is no new that every testing body aims at scrutinizing the candidates through various means in order to meet the demands of requisition sent by Departments, keeping in view of vacant seats. For the efficient result, the simple formula is always followed : The more number of candidates, the more tough paper it would be like the recent trade in one paper based Test, general recruitment, under FPSC and SPSC.It is imperative to recognize that there is not magic bullet or simple answer, as far as the recent result of primary school teacher(PST) and junior elementary school teacher (JEST) recruitments under Sukkur IBA Testing Services (STS) is concerned. An alarming bell around the Sindh province on poor result in such exam has once again ranged. Behind such failure of abundant candidates, there is no single solid reason and the experiment raises many questions. Copy Culture is not excluded. Besides it, Illiteracy has also contributed to such daunting and dismal performance of candidates. A large chunk of candidates belong to domestic work and profession other than the education, who do not know the ABC of Sindh text board books. Even they were not in race with educationalists but, they appeared in test for entertainment unlike PMS and CSS aspirants. one cannot deny the fact that developing state like Pakistan has been lagging behind in education on map of world. As of 2021, the Economic Survey 2020-21 reported that Punjab has the highest literacy rate of 64 percent unlike Sindh which has only 58 percent. It shows the bleak picture of illiteracy in the province. one can says that Tom dick and harry have participated in PST & JEST exams for joy rather than with intention to qualify the said exams of lower scale with zeal and zest. To sum up, the situation facing Sindh province calls for extra ordinary measures. However, the Education Department, with provincial government support, has made headways for amelioration of existing poor condition. Moreover, the Competent authority must learn the lesson from the dismal result of recent exams 2021, which have left no stone unturned in spreading the depleted image of Sindh Province across the country on media, the fourth pillar of state. In a nut shell, it is need of the hour that Education department must set rigid eligibility criterion so, that only professional and experienced aspirants can toss the coin of their fate in letter and spirit to avoid huge rush despite the impeding clouds of illiteracy and unprofessionalism in society.
