ISLAMABAD, (Parliament Times) : Amir Jamat-e-Islami Pakistan Siraj-ul-Haq while paying homage to Quaid-e-Azadi Kashmir Tehreek Shaheed Syed Ali Gilani has demanded the government of Pakistan to convene an OIC summit on Kashmir issue in Islamabad in view of the critical situation in Kashmir. The government of Pakistan should make the services of Syed Ali Gilani a part of the curriculum. One of the major roads of the provincial capitals should be named after Syed Ali Gilani.

Speaking on the occasion, Sirajul Haq said that the struggle of Kashmiris is for Pakistan. Disengagement from Kashmir’s struggle for independence would be a betrayal of the Kashmir cause and the ideology of Pakistan. He expressed these views while addressing a condolence reference organized by Jamaat-e-Islami Azad Jammu and Kashmir in memory of Quaid-e-Azadi Kashmir Shaheed Syed Ali Gilani. He further said that Syed Ali Gilani was an unparalleled leader of Kashmiris. He led the Kashmiri nation at every opportunity. As a result of Syed Ali Gilani’s burning candle, Kashmiris made sacrifices and struggled for independence. The water coming to Pakistan comes from Kashmir. If the struggle of Kashmiris is over, then Pakistan will not get a drop of water. So the question is where do we migrate or do we jump into the sea so we have to fulfill our responsibilities for Kashmir cause. Siraj-ul-Haq demanded that a full-time Deputy Foreign Minister be appointed to lobby for the Kashmir cause.

Not making Gilgit-Baltistan a transitional province of Pakistan would negate Pakistan’s long-standing position on the Kashmir issue and justify India without any change in the status of the free zones. He said that Gilgit-Baltistan should be given Azad Kashmir style authority and a dignified setup instead of an interim province. To the condolence reference, Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Azad Kashmir Dr. Khalid Mehmood Khan, former Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Sardar Ijaz Afzal Khan, Convener of Hurriyat Ghulam Muhammad Safi, Leader of Jamaat-e-Islami Occupied Kashmir Ghulam Nabi Nowsheri, Leader of All Party Hurriyat Conference Abdul Matin,

Syed Muhammad Abdullah, Liberation Front leaders Rafiq Dar, Muhammad Hussain Khatib, Nazir Qureshi, Zahid Safi, Amir Nasrullah Randhawa of Jamaat-e-Islami Islamabad, Noorul Bari, Central Deputy Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Azad Kashmir, Central Secretary General Muhammad Tanveer Anwar Khan, Ashraf Bilal and others leaders addressed.
