ISLAMABAD:   Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry has said a stable Afghanistan is in the interest of Pakistan and Pakistan will not allow its soil to be used with reference to Afghanistan.

“Stability in Afghanistan is in the interest of Pakistan. We will not allow our land to be used by any one with reference to Afghanistan. If Afghan situation deteriorates then we can think of sealing our borders”, he said this while talking to media men here Saturday.

He went on to say Pakistan played role in 1970 with reference to US-China relations. China and US are two economic powers. Pakistan is ready to play its role to defuse tension between US and China.

He held we persuaded Taliban to hold talks with US and later with Afghan government. We want to see a stable government in Afghanistan. We have completed 90 percent fencing work alongside Afghan borders.

All the Afghan groups will have to be included for resolution of Afghan issue.
We want to carry out trade in our own way, he remarked.
Referring to Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan interview with US news paper he said PM has narrated a new dimension on ties with US. He stressed on economic ties rather than security relations with US.

PM Imran Khan kept his stance before the world on US, China and Afghanistan matters. He also expressed hope for improvement in relations with India.

PM Imran Khan view point is this if Afghan situation deteriorates then we can think of sealing our borders with Afghanistan. We are in a position to fully seal our borders with Afghanistan.

Peace in Afghanistan is very critical to Pakistan, he underlined. PM Imran Khan made Pakistan position clear for the stability of Afghanistan. We want to help Afghanistan.
