The enjoyment of the highest attainable standard of health is one of the fundamental rights of every human being without distinction of race, religion, political belief, economic or social condition. Quality food is a key to good health. The Right to Adequate Food is a fundamental human right firmly established in international law. This right flows from the Charter of the United Nations, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) and the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (ICESCR) of 1966. So, Halal and quality food is one of the fundamental human rights. The poor quality and unavailability of Halal foods is a big Issue. My personal research has been going on for the last one month. The aim is to find out the availability and quality of halal foods all over the world. It also includes the opinions of some organizations and social media users. According to my research, Australia ranks first among Western countries in terms of availability and quality of halal meat and groceries. The role of some Foods Companies is very significant. Especially the role of Apni Dukaan is highly commendable. It is at the forefront in providing quality Halal Foods. It is a leading and fastest growing halal meat and grocery provider in Australia, in terms of transparency, high quality and amazing customer service. Apni Dukaan is the 1st Online Store to deliver Halal Meat and International Grocery Store in Metro & Regional Australia. It delivers in more than 8000 Suburbs. Mr. Raza Hasan, a young and emerging entrepreneur in Australia who started Apni Dukaan with a mission to help the community get halal products easily. When I asked Mr. Raza about his extraordinary efforts and achievements, he said: “Alhamdulillah, we are 1st to deliver Halal Meat and International Grocery Store to over 8000 suburbs in Metro & Regional Australia. It is a matter of pride for us. Our mission is to bring Halal to the mainstream at affordable prices and make it easily available for all Muslims in Australia. We are now delivering to most suburbs of NSW, ACT, VIC, QLD & TAS. Including regional & remote regions. All our deliveries come via refrigerated courier and in insulated packaging with ice packs in it. In case customer is not home, goods stay fine for up to 6 hours at their doorstep. We support our local charities and businesses where we can, within and also outside the community. We also take pride in participating in community food drives and fundraisers.” When I asked him, why and how did you start this project? He said: “One has to go through a lot of pain to find and buy halal products. Especially for Muslims living in regional and remote towns of Australia. We started Apni Dukaan because we had the same problem and it grew from that motivation. We now have a lot of halal products that are needed in day-to-day life. Products like Halal Meat, Groceries, Personal care items, etc”. Mission and vision determine the direction of any organization or institution. When I asked Mr. Raza about his vision and mission, he said: “Our mission is to help the community. We still have a long way to go. We want to ensure everyone have easy access to halal products, and we will continue this struggle until our mission is achieved.”. Of course, this is a revolutionary move. This revolutionary vision of Mr. Raza is highly commendable. When I asked him if this was a difficult task? He said: “This is certainly a difficult task, but nothing is difficult when one’s goal is to serve humanity. ALLAH helps in good deeds. I believe this’’.Apni Dukaan delivers in more than 8000 Suburbs. Providing halal products to 8000 suburbs is certainly a difficult task. It is highly commendable. Apni Dukaan is a role model for other halal foods providers. Right to eat and access to essentials is one of our fundamental rights. This revolutionary step of Mr. Raza is a beacon for others.
