Department Inland Revenue (Excise Wing) operation, Way Ward Cigarette Factory caught red handed making counterfeit cigarettes 

Muzaffarabad,(Parliament Times): Inland Revenue’s Appellant Excise Squad raids Secret Force at night between April 24 and 25, 2021. WayWard Factory was caught red handed making fake cigarettes in the capital Muzaffarabad. By taking the risk of life at stake, brave soldiers of the Inland Revenue Department  caught the government of Pakistan and the factory cover made for China for Azad Kashmir for a long time with fake cigarettes. Meanwhile, the factory, which was shown closed in the papers, was caught making fake cigarettes called “Kisan Brand”. The public on this occasion paid tributes to police and excise for successful operation. According to the details, Chairman Central Board of Revenue Azad Jammu and Kashmir Dr. Syed Asif Hussain’s special instructions to the Chairman Inland Revenue Azad Kashmir Excise Wing Ali was taken to a factory with his employees.

According to the details, WayWard Tobacco Act, which was accused of being involved in illegal smuggling and was earlier made for FBR Pakistan and Azad Kashmir agencies, was also caught red-handed after fierce resistance by making a cigarette brand?  It is worth mentioning here that there were several complaints of tax evasion and forgery regarding the factory. Legal arrest will not be possible on the basis that the team could not find significant evidence in the earlier action against the factory.  Complaints of involvement in making fake cigarettes of factory and non-core farmers and Hero brand continued to be received. Earlier, reports were received that the alleged companies were caught in a chartered umbrella class in Muzaffarabad, worth crores of rupees, filled with fake cigarettes. A few days ago, FBR officials also seized two trucks loaded with fake cigarettes on the Murree Expressway, which also belongs to the Ward Port Tobacco Factory. The Inland Revenue Department, acting on the special instructions of Chairman Central Board of Revenue, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, under the supervision of a police team headed by Commissioner Inland Revenue (Indirect – Taxes) Chaudhry Asim Shaukat and DIG Place Resin Muzaffarabad and Shehar Yar skander Naram Iqbal and Muslim Special Squads Regression Anwar-ul-Haq (Principal Excise and other Esprana Excise including Aqiq Al-Rasan and Sajjad Azad and other staff members risked their lives to raid the factory who also faced severe resistance from security personnel and employees) and the perpetrators exposed the elements involved despite life-threatening. Whereas,

as soon as the factory owners heard the news of the raid, they set fire to the factory by pouring petrol from the security personnel in their factory so that no evidence could be found in the hands of Inland Revenue and police but Excise Natiq-ur-Rehman avoided fire and got it as evidence. The factory had long been a chain for law enforcement agencies but also for Inland Revenue Azad Kashmir and FBR work. In this regard, FBR work had also requested the Azad Kashmir government to take action against the counterfeit cigarette factory and under Criminal Procedure. However, a joint operation of Inland Revenue (Excise) and the police which was carried out at night between 24th and 25th April 2021 at 2 am and the fake group and factory making fake brands were caught red handed. It is also pertinent to note here that according to the information provided by the Inland Revenue officials, the factory was declared closed for commercial activities from Ward No. 2020 onwards.
